Dr. Semih Süreyya YAZICI

Dr. Semih Süreyya YAZICI was born in Çankırı, in 1969. He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at Gazi University in the year 1991 with a high degree. At the same year, he started his PhD at the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Diseases and Surgery. He completed his PhD with a thesis that was rewarded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) in the year 1997 and received the title of ‘Doctor of Science’.

Having memberships in more than ten associations and foundations, especially in Turkish Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (TAOMS), YAZICI holds the presidency of the Health Commission of Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen Foundation (TÜSİAV) and ‘First Health Platform’.

In his private clinic, founded in 1999, he practices aesthetic, cosmetic, dentistry techniques; global developments and innovations at the same time. He also conducts intense work on his expertise subject surgery and the subjects of implantology and aesthetic dentistry.

He was awarded the prize of ‘Distinguished Service as the Most Successful Business Development and Sectoral Awareness Raising Activity’ of Ekonometri Magazine in the year 2007 for his track of new developments and innovations in the field of ‘Dentistry’, his participation to written and visual media with a view to raise public awareness, his proximity to non-governmental organization within the frame of social responsibility and his cooperation.

He has columns, interviews and impression articles in national and local media where he tells about the countries and cities he visited and people’s way of life in these places. He is invited to television and radio programs for professional enlightenment, but also to hear his stories including travelling culture.

His photography adventure began during his travels to more than forty countries and more than 150 cities where he has been for congresses, symposiums and touristic purposes. He has a collection of nature photography consisting of fifteen thousand photos that he took during these trips.

‘Dünyadan Kareler’ (Views from the World) is his first book where he published a small part of his great archive consisting of his photos with nature and human focus as his passion is. He donated the whole income of the book to Turkish Foundation for the Handicapped (TÜREV).

He has scientific articles and placards including his clinical studies during and after PhD years which were published in various magazines. He has also participated to many national and international congresses, scientific meetings and seminars.
